Patti Oya
Patti Oya is the Director of the Office of Early Learning & Development at the Nevada Department of Education. Patti is charged with the development and implementation of a comprehensive early childhood education system designed to ensure that all children from birth through third grade have access to high-quality early care and education. Her current goal is expanding universal pre-kindergarten across Nevada. She is dedicated to improving access to early childhood programs by collaborating with school districts, community partners, and other stakeholders, with the goal of ensuring future success for every young child in the state.
Key Achievements and Contributions
For more than 30 years, Ms. Oya has been providing direct services in both child care and early intervention. She has expertise in strategically implementing statewide early childhood initiatives, addressing equity and access issues in program and system design, managing complex budgeting and contracting processes, and leveraging diverse funding streams to optimize program outcomes.
